Philosophy of Worship
At Bethlehem, we value the importance of every worship opportunity. We seek for our services to be characterized by depth of the word of God and delivered with simplicity for understanding. Our prayer is that each worship experience will fill the heart and mind of each worshiper with biblical thinking about God, others, ourselves, and life itself. At the same time we seek to put renewed and greater emphasis on giving outward expressions of our heart's affections for God during worship. At the end of each worship experience our desire is that each worshipper would leave Bethlehem freshly inspired in reverence for God, intimacy with our Savior, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Overview
The Bethlehem Baptist Church was established in the 1920’s when a small group of believers in the Woodford Community had a vision to have a place of worship in their own community. Adhering to that vision, and possessing a spirit of dedication to God, they set out with determination, persistence, and perseverance to accomplish their goal. The result was the construction and establishing of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Woodford, South Carolina, with Rev. Bishop as its first pastor.
Over the years Bethlehem has been blessed with the inspiring leadership of various pastors who continued to build upon the foundation of faith established by her pioneering founders. Throughout the years the church has experienced growth in ministries, members, faith, and in rendering service unto the Lord. Through our ministry many have been inspired, developed, and given opportunity to go forth and spread the good news of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is with the help of our Lord, the diligence of our members, and the steadfastness of the men and women of God who have been gifted to be church leaders, armor-bearers, ministry leaders, deacons, trustees, administrative workers, and those who volunteer their time unselfishly, that this church continues to be a Beacon of Light. Under the leadership of our current pastor, Reverend Felix C. Anderson, who has served Bethlehem since 1999, the church has set its focus on extending its reach through the equipping and empowering of its members. We seek for present and future members to become engaged in using their gifts, gaining knowledge, demonstrating their faith, and attracting others who desire change in their life. To aid in our pursuit, the church was incorporated in the year 2000, and a non-profit entity, Total Life Community Outreach, was established in 2013. Through this and other ministry opportunities offered, we will continue to inspire our members to live victoriously in the faith, and as a result, have a greater Impact in their Family, Community and the World. |
